The 10 young Seychellois nautical cadets who started their seafaring training with Seypec/ANRHD in 2019 vying for Officer competency, left the country on Saturday morning to complete their last phase of the nautical science courses at the Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (Cinec) in Sri Lanka.

They were accompanied by the shipping and administration manager, Sharon Pool.

The training will be for a duration of 9 months whereby the cadets will undertake main courses and a number of STCW short courses including simulation training.

After completion of the written exams they will sit for the Oral exams (VIVA VOCE), and upon successful completion, Seychelles Maritime Safety Authority (SMSA) will issue them with their Certificate of Competency (CoC) to be eligible to sail as a Second Officer.
