Our two young under-20 selections could only manage a fourth-placed finish each at the indoor tournament of the Coupe des iles de l'Océan Indien which took place at the gymnase de Trois-Mares in Reunion.

In their matches for third and fourth place ranking yesterday, our girls’ selection lost 1-3 (25-22, 21-25, 9-25, 9-25) to Mauritius, while the boys lost by the same score to Reunion selection one.

The set scores were 14-25, 19-25, 25-21 and 20-25.

In the group stage, the girls lost all their three matches against the two selections from hosts Reunion and Mauritius, while the boys managed to collect a victory in their match against Reunion selection two, after losing their first two matches to Mauritius and the Reunion selection one.

The indoor tournament is being played on a league format, with group winners and runners-up playing the final, while the bottom two will battle for third place.

The competition will continue today with the one-day beach volleyball tournament where Seychelles will be represented by four teams (two girls and two boys).
