African Confederation Boxing Championships – Six Algerians in Finals (allAfrica.com)

Six Algerian pugilists have been qualified for the final events of the AFBC African Confederation Boxing Championships (men’s seniors), to take place Sunday evening at Mohamed V Sports Complex of Casablanca, Morocco.

The six boxers are Mohamed Flissi (52 Kg), Reda Benbaaziz (60 Kg), Abdelhafid Benchebla (81 Kg), Mohamed Grimes (+91 Kg), Abdelkader Chadi -64 Kg) and Chouaib Bouloudinat (91 Kg).

Fighting in the second session of the semi-finals, Abdelkader Chadi (64 Kg), double African champion, dominated his Botswnese opponent Bagwasi Kagiso (3-0).

In the final, Chadi will fight against Moroccan Aatakni Abdelhak.

Bouloudinat Chouaib (91 Kg), Africa’s number two, beat his opponent, Ugandan Kyakonye Wily, by knockout after just one minute.

The Algerian pugilist will fight against Moroccan Abouhamada Abdeljalil in the final.

Mohamed Flissi (52 Kg), the world’s number two, won over Tunisian El Bouali Montasser. He will face Moroccan Kharroubi Achraf in the final.

The Gold medallist in the Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey (2013), Reda Benbaaziz (60 Kg), confirmed once again his technical qualities on the ring by knocking down his opponent, Ugandan Asuni Hassan Abdul, three times during the bout.

He will fight, the final, against Egyptian Abdelaal Mahmoud Abdelaal.

Abdelhafid Benchebla (81 Kg), title holder of Mauritius African championship in 2009, and gold medallist in the Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey (2013), won over Moroccan Saada Hassan

The 2011 WSB world champion Benchebla faced an opponent fighting at home and supported by most of the spectators at the Mohamed V sports complex. He will fight against Egyptian Salah Orabi in the final.

The last semifinal of the first session featured Mohamed Grimes (+91 Kg), who fought against Agnes Kessy Evans of the Seychelles.

The Algerian bronze medallist at the 2014 African championship in East London, South Africa, will fight against Moroccan Mohamed Arjaoui in the final.

The finals of the 19th African boxing championships will take place Sunday evening at Mohamed V Sports Complex of Casablanca, Morocco.
